Hometown: Shorewood, IL High School: Minooka Community High School (2010) College: Lewis University, Romeoville (2014) Earned Bachelor’s Degree in Combined Special and Elementary Education Coach Diamond just finished her seventh year as a math teacher at Minooka Junior High School. In addition to being a teacher, she has also spent the last six years coaching volleyball for the 201 district. She spent two years at the sixth grade level and then the last four years as the seventh grade coach. Prior to teaching and coaching for the Minooka Junior High, Coach Diamond spent eight years coaching 5th-8th grade athletes at Holy Family, a grade school in Shorewood. She focused on the basic foundational skills needed to play the game. She emphasized teaching the players the correct form and the rules of the sport. When she graduated from Minooka Community High School in 2010, she decided to focus on academics in college and just continue to volunteer as a coach at Holy Family to keep volleyball in her life. She began coaching club volleyball during college as well. During her time at Belusa United, formerly known as Belusa, she has coached girls ranging from 7-18 years old. This June marked the end of her twelfth season coaching club volleyball. She ended the season at the Navy Pier tournament, where her 14s team won the Copper Division! Coach Diamond played four years of club volleyball and played three years as a libero/defensive specialist for MCHS. After high school, she focused more on education and coaching. However, she continued to play competitively in intramural leagues during her time in college, and currently in beach volleyball tournaments throughout the summers. Coach Diamond resides in Minooka with her husband, Danny. She likes to stay active by working out and playing volleyball with her two sisters, Nikki and Theresa. She will be assisting her sister Nikki on the freshman level and will be a great asset to our program as a very qualified coach & leader.
